Telling Snow Stories
While the best winter tracks to find at the Arboretum are River Otter, but every animal track you find tells a story and I often stop and wonder at the tracks in the snow. Tiny bird tracks, the marks of wings and bigger bird tracks - hmmm - I bet a bigger bird chased the smaller away. Of course, I never know what the real story is, it is nice just to ponder and wonder.
In this photo, an assortment of deer, rabbit and mice share a water hole in the stream. Are they all friends and did they stop to chat like in Thornton Burgess's Peter Rabbit stories?

We loved the Thorton Burgess stories when the kids were younger. Thanks for sharing.
